Met Dave, Martyn Bernd, Tim and Kevin at pendam and then after a bit of a chat we set off around the Summit trail. It was pouring with rain and things were a little slippery in places but my new tyres are so much better than my old ones that I felt more secure and less likely to fall off.

Not only do they provide better grip allowing me to corner better, lean into the turns and therefore come out faster so using less energy to get back up to speed, but they seem to roll better, feel more comfortable as they deform over rocks etc. better and make the ride smoother as they actually go where I tell them to rather than slipping out all the time. They seemed to provide better traction uphill too, so allround they are better.

The rain really started coming down on the leg-burner climb which kept us cool. We did the Old Italian Job too which was a little wet and slippery but good fun.

By the time we got back to pendam and did the 'Hippity Hop' section it was getting a little dark and without lights we were virtually blind through the trees, but we all made it back in one piece after a good ride around the forests.
